Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all aspects of the automotive service department, including scheduling, workflow management, and quality control to maximize productivity and customer satisfaction
- Supervise service technicians and mechanics, providing guidance on diagnostics, repairs, and customer communication to ensure high standards of workmanship
- Oversee vehicle maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, alignments, suspension work, brake repairs, transmission servicing, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, air brake systems, and auto body repairs
- Drive upselling initiatives by identifying additional service opportunities that enhance vehicle performance and safety while increasing revenue
- Manage auto estimating and service writing processes accurately to ensure clear communication with customers and proper documentation of work performed
- Handle customer inquiries with professionalism and enthusiasm, ensuring their needs are met with positive solutions and excellent service experience
- Maintain compliance with dealership policies and automotive industry standards while managing cash handling procedures securely
- Foster a team-oriented environment that encourages professional development and continuous learning among staff
Experience
- Proven dealership experience with a strong background in auto service management or automotive repair operations
- Extensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, transmissions, oil changes, tire services, alignment procedures, suspension systems, brake repair, auto body repair techniques, diesel engine repair, shocks & struts replacement, air brake systems, and related services
- Hands-on experience working as a service technician or mechanic is highly valued to better understand technical challenges and support your team effectively
- Demonstrated success in upselling services while maintaining integrity and customer trust
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients of varying knowledge levels
- Experience in auto estimating software and service writing processes to streamline workflow and improve accuracy
- Ability to handle cash transactions responsibly while managing multiple priorities efficiently
