The General Sales Manager oversees all aspects of the sales department, including new and pre-owned vehicle sales, finance, sales staff performance, customer satisfaction, and profitability. The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader with a strong automotive background, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to hit and exceed targets.

Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and manage the sales team to achieve monthly sales and profitability goals.
- Develop and implement effective sales processes, strategies, and training programs.
- Maintain high standards of customer satisfaction and handle customer concerns when necessary.
- Monitor inventory levels and work closely with management to optimize stock and merchandising.
- Oversee desking of deals, appraisals, and approval of sales transactions.
- Manage lead generation, CRM processes, and follow-up strategies to maximize opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Finance & Insurance department to ensure smooth deal flow.
- Track performance metrics and provide regular reporting to dealership leadership.
- Recruit, hire, and onboard high-quality sales professionals.
- Ensure compliance with all dealership policies and state/federal regulations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years of automotive sales management experience; GSM experience strongly preferred.
- Proven track record of leading successful sales teams and achieving results.
- Strong understanding of new and used car operations, inventory management, market trends, and finance.
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and communication abilities.
- Proficiency with automotive CRMs, DMS systems, and digital retailing tools.
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to dealership values and reputation.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment.
- Willing to submit pre-employment background check, DMV record, and drug screen
