Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer with a strong background in controls engineering, specifically with Allen-Bradley PLCs and automation systems, to support our growing operations in Carmel. This role is critical to managing urgent prototype builds, expanding testing capabilities, and ensuring timely execution of strategic initiatives and product launches.

Responsibilities:

As our Supply Chain Director, you will lead a team of 30-40 supply chain professionals led by three senior managers. You will drive strategic innovation in sourcing operations, implement automation solutions, and build a data-driven procurement function that delivers measurable competitive advantage. You will lead the integration of emerging technologies that streamline forecasting, purchasing and inventory management while implementing significant cost savings and operational excellence.

Strategic Leadership & Innovation:

  • Develop and lead a forward-looking supply chain strategy that positions AI, automation and predictive analytics at the core of forecasting and procurement operations
  • Design and implement innovative sourcing strategies, in alignment with our customers, to optimize and leverage our supplier network
  • Champion sustainable procurement practices and performance control systems enhanced by AI capabilities
  • Oversee enterprise-wide MRO procurement strategy, driving supplier negotiations and implementing optimization initiatives to reduce costs, improve reliability, and ensure timely availability of critical materials.

AI & Automation Implementation:

  • Identify, evaluate, and deploy ROI-based AI-powered procurement technologies including robotic process automation (RPA), machine learning algorithms, and predictive supply chain analytics
  • Lead procurement analytics capabilities to extract valuable insights from supply chain data
  • Lead the supply chain workforce shift, upskilling team as AI-powered tools are implemented

Operational Excellence:

  • Direct all supply chain functions including materials planning, purchasing, sourcing and inventory management for current and new programs, MRO and customers.
  • Lead the supply chain function through the ERP integration and migration; ensure process optimization is realized through a Corporate-wide ERP system implementation
  • Monitor and optimize supply chain performance using real-time data dashboards and KPIs

Team Development & Collaboration:

  • Build and lead a high-performing supply chain team with capabilities in demand management, inventory optimization, customer centricity and data analytics
  • Foster a culture of functional excellence, continuous improvement, and technological adoption
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners including operations, finance, sales, new solutions development and implementation, logistics and IT to align supply chain initiatives with organizational goals
  • Develop team members' skills in emerging technologies and data-driven decision-making

Your Contributions:

  • Qualified candidates must reside in the Midwest region of the United States
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • 15+ years of progressive supply chain experience and leadership, with at least 10+ years functional and people management roles
  • Proven track record of leading process optimization, through process improvement and/or technology in supply chain and procurement functions
  • Deep expertise in supply chain management, including procurement, sourcing, inventory management, and supplier relationship management
  • Experience in directed-buy or category management environments
