JOB SUMMARY:Clemson University's Information Technology Support Services Team is looking for a Tier 2 NOC Technician to fulfill the following duties:
- Monitors, tests, maintains, and repairs network and infrastructure elements for Clemson CCIT.
- Provides advanced tech support for issues that escalated from the entry level service desk.
- Coordinates operational procedures and documentation with other groups.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
45% - Essential - Support and Configuration:
Configure network and system resources and maintain corresponding system records and documentation. Provides Tier II support as per SME agreements. Performs periodic maintenance and monitoring of network systems and servers. Performs pre-configured port activations on network switches.
30% - Essential - Monitoring:
Monitors Clemson network, server, and application elements, resolves incidents and service requests and/or consults with the subject matter expert or system owner for incident resolution. Applies state-of-the-art technology to meet and improve network control center.
15% - Essential - Incident Management:
Control network and system processing. Responds to customer inquiries and alerts via emails, incoming calls, and walk-ins. Conducts routine inspections on equipment and reports any abnormalities.
5% - Essential - Documentation:
Prepares and reviews documentation for use in operations for training and knowledge base. Participates in training and cross training for the Tier II. Provides customer service for all information and/or telecommunication network systems support areas
5% - Essential - Other:
Other operational duties as assigned such as meetings, project work, administration and facilities requirements.
Education - High School Diploma
Work Experience - Experience in office automation systems, data communications system design, installation, operation, repair, sales or marketing, or processing of information in a data processing environment or related systems. A degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

WORK SCHEDULE:Standard Hours: 40 Hours / Week
COMPENSATION INFORMATIONExpected Salary Range: ($ 47, $ 78,807.00)
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines .
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVELEssential Level 1 Employee
Required to respond during an emergency closure or modified operations in order to provide the University's initial response to the emergency situation, including the execution of mission essential functions. Some positions in this category may be required to work remotely or be on-call.
