Day Shift EMT/Advanced EMT

Working under the direct supervision of the Duty Supervisor and Chief Officers, this full-time position is responsible to administer medical treatment and provide transport of sick and injured persons to medical facilities in accordance with Pennsylvania EMS protocols, federal, state, and local regulations, organizational policies and procedures and professional standards.

The candidate must possess and apply knowledge and skills necessary to perform the duties of an EMT or Advanced EMT, in a dignified and compassionate manner, including but not limited to:

• Responding to emergency and non-emergency calls calmly, efficiently and promptly;
• Providing emergency medical services at private and public special events as needed;
• Administering basic and/or intermediate advanced life support to patients at the scene, enroute to the hospital and in a pre-hospital setting in accordance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations and standards;
• Assessing the nature and extent of injury or illness to establish and prioritize medical procedures to be followed;
• Communicating with professional medical personnel and treatment facilities to obtain instructions regarding further treatment and/or to arrange reception of patients to the appropriate center; and
• Providing the very best experience to patients, family members and the general public;
• Maintaining order at scenes, including crowd disbursement and control of concerned family and friends; and
• Completing patient care forms, insurance forms, evaluation forms, and all other forms in a competent and timely fashion'
• Performing daily tasks such as vehicle inspections, vehicle cleaning/decontamination, facility cleaning or other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• 18 years of age
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• Current certification as PA DoH EMT or Advanced EMT, with at least 1 year experience in a 911 setting
• Current PA DoH EMSVO credential, with at least 1 year experience operating ambulances in a 911 setting
• Current healthcare provider CPR
• Haz-mat awareness
• IS-100, IS-200, NIMS-700 & IS-800 courses

Preferred:

• Certified PA DoH Advanced EMT
• Knowledge of emsCharts PCR software

• Set day shift rotation.
• EMT candidates are encouraged to successfully complete Good Fellowship's Advanced EMT program, achieve PA DoH AEMT certification and successfully complete field training within 365 days of their date of hire.

Education:

• 911 EMS: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• BLS CPR Certification (Required)
