About The Role
The Principal (Staff) Machine Learning Engineer will play a pivotal role within the Growth Experience Technology (GET) team, focusing on developing and deploying advanced machine learning models to enhance Autodesk's eCommerce platform. This role involves leading initiatives that improve personalized digital experiences for customers, from ideation through to deployment and optimization. The engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including product managers, designers, and MLOps—to create scalable, real-time personalization solutions that drive engagement and conversion. This position offers an opportunity to influence the future of digital commerce at Autodesk by leveraging data-driven insights and innovative ML techniques to deliver tailored experiences across various product categories and marketplaces.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in machine learning infrastructure, model deployment, and optimization
- Strong background in software design, architecture, and product development
- Proficiency in data mining, information retrieval, and statistical modeling
- Experience with A/B testing and experimental design methodologies
- Ability to translate business needs into scalable ML or analytics solutions
- Experience working in high-scale data environments such as eCommerce, marketing technology, or fintech
- Advanced degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field preferred but not mandatory; equivalent industry experience is highly valued
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models for real-time personalization within Autodesk's eCommerce ecosystem
- Collaborate with product managers and experience designers to define personalization strategies and implementation approaches
- Transform business challenges into scalable ML solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals
- Work closely with the MLOps team to productionize models and optimize inference performance for real-time applications
- Create experimentation frameworks and conduct A/B testing to evaluate model impact on key metrics such as click-through rate, bounce rate, and add-to-cart rate
- Build scalable models that support multiple product categories, including third-party integrations for Autodesk's marketplace
- Contribute to a data-informed culture by participating in initiatives related to segmentation, recommendation systems, forecasting, churn prediction, and product analytics
- Mentor and support team members, fostering a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive environment
