Housekeeping Supervisor

Job Summary

The Housekeeping Supervisor oversees and coordinates the daily activities of housekeeping staff to ensure all rooms, public areas, and facilities are clean, orderly, and well-maintained. This role is responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, training and motivating team members, and ensuring excellent guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the work of housekeeping attendants, laundry staff, and other cleaning personnel.
• Inspect rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas for cleanliness and adherence to company standards.
• Assign duties, schedule shifts, and manage daily work assignments.
• Train new employees on cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and company policies.
• Monitor inventory levels and request or reorder cleaning supplies and equipment as needed.
• Handle guest requests or complaints promptly and professionally.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and sanitation standards.
• Assist in the development and implementation of housekeeping procedures and standards.
• Support deep cleaning projects, special events, and seasonal cleaning schedules.
• Maintain records of staff performance, inspections, and maintenance issues.

Qualifications & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional hospitality or management training preferred.
• 2–4 years of housekeeping experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness standards.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., MS Office, housekeeping management systems).
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and OSHA safety standards.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
• Capable of lifting or moving up to (25–50 lbs / 10–25 kg) as required.

Work Environment

• Fast-paced environment with a focus on guest satisfaction and operational excellence.
• May require working in both indoor and outdoor settings, depending on the facility.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 25 per week
