ABOUT THIS POSITION

Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for operational excellence and team leadership? We're looking for a Water Services Inventory Management Coordinator to lead the charge in managing and safeguarding over $22 million in critical ratepayer assets across our Water and Wastewater Treatment operations.

In this pivotal role, you'll oversee inventory operations across five key locations, guiding a team of approximately 20 dedicated professionals to ensure accuracy, consistency, and security in our inventory systems while driving innovation and efficiency in our processes.

  • Lead the development and implementation of standardized inventory procedures across multiple warehouse locations.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to forecast and fulfill inventory needs.
  • Oversee procurement activities, vendor communications, and inventory recordkeeping.
  • Champion customer service initiatives and continuous process improvements.
  • Ensure the security and accountability of all supplies and equipment.
  • Supervise and support the team responsible for ordering, receiving, and managing inventory.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

We're looking for someone who brings a blend of leadership, logistics expertise, and a commitment to public service.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in inventory management, supply chain, or warehouse operations.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams across multiple sites.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and inventory tracking tools.
  • A proactive mindset with a focus on process improvement and customer service.
  • Knowledge of public sector procurement practices (a plus).
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Proven success implementing inventory controls and standard operating procedures across multiple sites.
  • Demonstrated ability to review and validate the work of others for compliance with purchasing and inventory standards.
SALARY

Pay Range: $80,454.40 to $118,872.00 annually.

Hiring Range: $80,454.40 to $97,780.80 annually.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Five years of experience in warehousing and stores activities; two years of which include the development, implementation, and operation of an automated inventory control system.
  • Two years of supervisory experience.
  • Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
  • All finalists for positions are subject to a criminal background check applicable to the department or position.
  • Some positions require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:

  • A bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, logistics, or a related field.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification and/or hands-on experience applying process improvement methodologies.
  • Professional certification in supply chain or inventory management, such as APICS CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent.
  • Experience in a utility or public sector environment, particularly in water or wastewater services.
  • Hands-on experience with tactical warehousing practices, including cycle counts, reconciliations, and inventory audits.
  • Experience with enterprise systems such as SAP (Accounting, Procurement, and Warehouse modules) and/or Oracle-based asset management platforms.
