Material Handler for 1st Shift

The purpose of the Material Handler is to oversee and optimize the operation of, and communication between shipping and production. The Material Handler must ensure department standards and protocol are kept at all times.

Job Duties

Manage shipping and receiving department

• Loading and unloading of trucks that enter the docks.
• Ensure all loads are visually inspected and have supervisor sign for all inbound shipments.
• Keep truck dock clean and clear of obstructions, docks are ready for use at all times.
• Act in accordance with OSF Values (Trust/Respect/Care) described in OSF Employee Manual.

Processing Room Support

• Maintain appropriate levels of raw goods at trim stations during production runs.
• Move finished product pallets to cold storage and prep for shipment.
• Maintain appropriate levels of production materials and consumables including boxes and film.
• Remove product waste from production room when necessary.

Basic Sanitation/Organization

• Ensure warehouse and shipping area floors are free of mud/dirt and debris.
• Routinely inspect items stored in warehouse/shipping areas for cleanliness, signs of pests.
• Maintain order and organization for tools and consumable items.

ODA (Other Duties Assigned)

• Complete tasks in different OSF departments/areas if needed. These include but are not limited to Packaging/Processing operations, Warehouse operations, Greenhouse operations.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Able to prove 18 years of age or older.
• Able to drive forklift. Certification provided.
• Able to prove status as U.S. Citizen, legal migrant to the U.S., or permanent resident of the U.S.
• Able to work overtime/weekends (if necessary) to complete daily required tasks.
• Able to take direction and carry out orders.
• Able to communicate clearly.
• Able to accept criticism/coaching and act accordingly.

Education and Experience

• Warehouse experience preferred

Physical Requirements

Able to:

• See and have accurate color perception.
• Hear and have clear speech.
• Mount and dismount trucks and vehicles.
• Walk, bend at waist, squat, crouch, kneel and reach.
• Repetitive use of both hands.
• Frequent heavy lifting of 50#
• Able to move 100 pounds
