Duties

• Design, develop, and update curriculum content for phlebotomy technician training programs, ensuring alignment with industry standards and accreditation requirements
• Deliver engaging lectures and practical demonstrations on blood collection techniques, patient care procedures, and laboratory safety protocols
• Supervise students during hands-on clinical practice sessions in simulated or real healthcare environments, providing constructive feedback and mentorship
• Utilize learning management systems (LMS) such as Blackboard to track student progress, administer assessments, and facilitate online learning modules
• Review documentation related to clinical research studies or clinical trials involving blood sampling or patient care procedures
• Ensure compliance with health regulations, safety standards, and institutional policies during all instructional activities
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals and industry partners to stay current on advancements in phlebotomy techniques, medical terminology, and laboratory technology

Requirements

• Proven experience in phlebotomy, including acute care or hospital settings, with a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and laboratory procedures
• Prior teaching experience at the higher education level or adult education environment; experience working with students is highly valued
• Supervising experience in clinical or educational settings is preferred
• Familiarity with learning technology platforms such as Blackboard or other LMS tools for course management and documentation review
• Knowledge of clinical research processes, clinical trials, and laboratory safety protocols
• Strong communication skills with the ability to teach complex concepts clearly and effectively
• Background in veterinary terminology or animal physiology is a plus for interdisciplinary training approaches
• Experience working in pediatric or public health environments enhances instructional versatility
• Demonstrated ability to develop curriculum content that integrates anatomy knowledge with practical patient care skills
