Delivery Driver

Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods to various locations while ensuring timely and safe delivery. This role requires excellent driving skills, customer service orientation, and the ability to handle heavy lifting as needed.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Responsible for ensuring merchandise is accurately accounted for, handled, unloaded, and delivered within the specified time frame to branches or end users.
• Responsible for inspection of material when picking up from vendor warehouses, prior to and after delivery to final destination to ensure material arrives intact and without damage.
• The associate must maintain strong customer, colleague, and vendor relationships through providing exceptional customer service.
• Required to complete deliveries on scheduled day as specified by DCS unless given specific written authorization to deviate from schedule. Responsible for conducting safety reviews of equipment to ensure assets are in good working condition, fuel trucks as needed, and report any issues that would impact safe travel.
• The associate must have a strong knowledge of safety protocols, expected to follow safe lifting procedures when moving / delivering merchandise and ensure warehouse / delivery vehicle is clean of all debris to minimize trip, slip, or fall hazards.
• Demonstrate ability to work independently in a team environment.
• Demonstrate ability to manage time and prioritize multiple tasks based on business needs.
• At times, associate will be asked to assist warehouse personnel as needed with pulling and preparing orders for shipment, verifying, staging, and stocking incoming materials.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction).
• Ability to effectively communicate and share information in a concise professional manner either verbally or through written correspondence.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent time management skills with ability to multi-task, prioritize projects and meet deadlines.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must have valid state issued driver's license.
• A clean driving background within the previous two (2) years.
• 3 months of experience operating forklift/power equipment such as lifts, order pickers, and similar equipment.
• 6 months of delivery experience for a warehouse or retail environment
