North Woods Village of Kalamazoo, Southwest Michigan's premier dedicated Memory Care Assisted Living community, is seeking a Dietary Aide, to join its facility. At North Woods Village, having a passion for serving those with Alzheimer's Disease and dementia is the most important quality for our team and helps distinguish our Senior Living Community from others and ensures the best living experience for our residents and their families.
The Dietary Aide's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Ensures beverage orders are delivered. Pour coffee, tea and juices while assisting residents with opening containers.
- Takes food order, presents to kitchen staff and delivers meal to residents and guest in a proper and timely manner in accordance with standards.
- Serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance. Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures. Prepare food, etc. in accordance with sanitary regulations as well as with our established policies and procedures.
- Assist in maintaining food storage areas in a clean and properly arranged manner. Stock food and supplies for next meal.
- Provide support services to other dining rooms and special programs as needed.
- Assist chef with preparing and/or dishing up food, garnishing plates, preparing and delivering room service tray, etc.
- Assists in bussing and resetting tables.
- Handles china, glassware and equipment safely and quietly to minimize breakage.
- Provide excellent and attentive customer service for an exceptional dining experience.
- Set up meal trays, food carts, dining room, etc. as instructed. Assist in checking diet trays before distribution. Deliver food carts, trays, etc. to designated areas.
- Prepare and deliver snacks, etc. as instructed.
- Reports any resident comments or concerns to Director of Dining Services/Executive Chef immediately.
- Clean work area according to cleaning schedules and assignments.
- Complies with all state and county health codes for food handling.
- Strive to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment and the achievement of safe working practices.
- Attend and participate in service training programs to meet state and federal requirements.
Requirements
Three to six months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in the culinary field.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $ $15.00 per hour
