Complete Automation is an aggressively growing manufacturing company in Northern Oakland County seeking a full-time Quality Control Technician / Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to support our manufacturing operations and ensure compliance with quality standards.
Job Duties
- Inspect raw materials, incoming parts, welds, and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Perform in-process and final inspections using appropriate measuring tools and equipment.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and required documentation.
- Assist with PPAP, FMEA, and other quality-related paperwork.
- Verify material traceability throughout the manufacturing process.
- Perform ANSI sampling on inbound parts.
- Ensure all measuring equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
- Support customer requirements and quality audits as needed.
- Collaborate with production staff to identify and resolve quality issues.
- Maintain ASME certification requirements.
- Work with design team to capture critical weld information on drawings.
- Maintain welder continuity logs.
- Keep WPS/PQR libraries updated and controlled.
- Generate inspection reports, weld reject logs, and repair records.
- Support document turnover packages (QC books, data reports).
Requirements
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certificate holder (or willingness to immediately complete training).
- Prior experience in quality control, manufacturing, or ASME code welding / inspection.
- Familiarity with inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and weld symbols (required).
- Knowledge of ISO and ASME quality standards (required).
- NDE experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and record-keeping skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
