About the Job:
As a Final Inspector, you will perform detailed visual and functional inspections to ensure each product meets Spellman's quality and safety standards. You'll be the last checkpoint before shipment, helping to uphold the reliability our customers expect.
What You Will Do:
- Perform advanced inspections using measurement tools, gauges, and testing equipment
- Read Drawing and instructions to comprehend the quality expectations for the product
- Verify in-process and final product conformance on high-voltage assemblies and test setups
- Lead First Article Inspections (FAIs) and document results in accordance with AS9102 or equivalent standards
- Document nonconformities and prepare inspection reports
- Provide technical support and guidance to other inspectors
- Support calibration and equipment verification
- Maintain inspection records per quality management system requirements (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100)
- Perform regular quality assessments on all incoming materials from vendors and outgoing products for shipping
- Reject all products and materials that fail to meet quality expectations
- Recommend improvements to the production process to ensure quality control
- Measure product dimensions, examine functionality, and compare the final product to the specifications
- Resolving quality-related issues and adhering to deadlines
- Prepare documentation of the inspection process, which includes detailed reports and performance records
- Direct assembly adjustments to ensure operations reflect quality standards
- Put accessories together for product before shipment
- Perform Quality Audit
- Perform necessary transactions in ERP system
- Train and mentor Inspectors I–II on inspection methods, test procedures, and safety practices
What You Need:
- 5–10 years of inspection experience
- Strong understanding of GD&T, metrology, and inspection techniques
- Familiarity with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) or other advanced inspection tools
- Advanced understanding of schematics, wiring practices, insulation systems, and clearance/creepage requirements
- Required Certification: IPC-A-610 and IPC-WHMA-A-620 (current)
- Preferred Certifications: ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or equivalent
Standard Shift, Hours 7:00AM -3:30PM
Our good faith estimate of the wage range for this role is $ $34.48. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and other factors. In addition to base pay, we offer a full benefits package.
