Line Cook

Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced cook who is looking to join our culinary team. We are searching for someone that is skilled on the line, with high leadership qualities. The ideal candidate would be someone who might be promotable over time. Open availability will get priority.

Duties

• Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards, ensuring consistency and quality in every plate.
• Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients to streamline kitchen operations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation protocols.
• Handle food with care, following proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination and ensure freshness.
• Support menu planning efforts by suggesting new ideas and ensuring ingredient availability for daily specials.
• Collaborate with kitchen team members during meal service to ensure timely delivery of orders.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, ovens, grills, and fryers.
• Assist in catering events or special functions by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining quality standards.
• Serve dishes promptly and professionally when required, providing excellent service that enhances guest satisfaction.
• Follow all health regulations and safety guidelines diligently to uphold a safe working environment for everyone.

Requirements

• Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant environments—preferably with fine dining experience or in the food industry at large.
• Strong knife skills and proficiency in basic culinary techniques essential for efficient meal preparation.
• Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures.
• Previous dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus, demonstrating familiarity with specialized meal requirements.
• Experience with menu planning or catering services is advantageous for contributing to diverse culinary offerings.
• Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively within a fast-paced kitchen setting.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects safely, and work efficiently under pressure.
• A genuine passion for culinary arts combined with a proactive attitude toward learning new skills and techniques.
