Automotive Technician

Overview
The Mechanic / Automotive Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and preparing vehicles for retail sale efficiently and safely. This role must ensure every vehicle leaves the shop reliable, clean, and retail-ready, with strong documentation and communication. The candidate must balance technical skill with speed and cost-awareness and must maintain integrity in all decisions.

This is not a slow corporate shop or warranty flat-rate environment — it's a fast-moving independent dealership where efficiency and ownership thinking matter.

Duties

• Perform comprehensive vehicle diagnostics using advanced tools and techniques to identify issues accurately.
• Conduct repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems, including powertrain, transmissions, electrical systems, and diesel engines.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to execute repairs efficiently.
• Interpret schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems.
• Conduct vehicle inspections, routine maintenance, oil changes, brake repairs, and other service tasks.
• Assist in diagnosing and repairing automotive electrical systems, including sensors and wiring harnesses.
• Maintain detailed records of repairs performed and communicate findings clearly to customers.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.

Qualifications

• Mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive repair and maintenance.
• Familiarity with automotive diagnostics tools
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and alignment machinery.
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and repair guides accurately.
