Job Summary:

The Shop Mechanic/Road Service Tech is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. This role involves troubleshooting mechanical issues, performing routine maintenance, and completing repairs efficiently. The Shop Mechanic/Road Service Tech must follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace while supporting overall shop operations. This position is a multi-purpose role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform all levels of preventive maintenance services
  • Maintain work area appearance and safety
  • Use critical thinking to solve problems
  • Computer diagnostics
  • Perform duties with little or no supervision and in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists
  • Adjust and replace brakes, tighten bolts and screws, and reassemble equipment
  • Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers, motor analyzers, chassis charts, and pressure gauges
  • Examine and adjust protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
  • Ability to diagnose trailers, yard dogs, light duty, medium duty, and heavy duty equipment

Note: Other duties assigned

Requirements:

  • Must be able to do the following: Stand, walk, lift, carry, push, pull, climb, balance, and stoop.
  • Ability to handle the exposure to weather, including extreme temperatures, rain, snow, sleet, or ice.
  • Proficiency in the use of all tools of trade (including welding equipment, diagnostic equipment, hand and power tools) is required.
  • Must have basic tools.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a minimum of 1 years' experience
  • Must have Diesel & Trailer maintenance experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • A valid Georgia driver's license is required- Clean MVR

Compensation:

  • Commission-Based
  • Company vehicle provided
