OVERVIEW

Do you like being active, working hands-on, while staying in Hawaii and not having to hunt or travel to the Mainland for jobs? Are you a "handy-man" construction and restaurant equipment maintenance manager? We are seeking an experienced and well-rounded Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance function for one of the quickest growing restaurant brands in the world This team member is part of a Domino's franchise organization, Posso Pizza Inc., and will help build and refine the structure, processes for construction and maintenance services for both existing and new stores across the Hawaiian Islands. This role is instrumental in performing the installation work in the build-out of new, relocating and remodeled stores, as well as maintaining equipment at numerous existing stores. The ideal candidate will bring a well-rounded background in maintenance, an established professional network, and proven leadership experience.

What will you be doing?

  • Managing food establishment building maintenance, including but not limited to, plumbing repairs, leaking faucet drains, trap replacement, removing clogged drains, conducting minor electrical replacement of light fixtures, moving power outlets, replacement of floor tiles and windows, adjusting doors in both the exterior and interior of the store, repairing roof and flashing leaks, etc.
  • Implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs for stores and store equipment
  • Holding a general contractor's license and/or experience is a big plus
  • Conduct close collaboration with subcontractors for installation of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, framing work, etc.
  • Conveying knowledge of plumbing, refrigeration, HVAC, building codes and requirements
  • Being proficient at reading and understanding blueprints
  • Being proficient at creating a project schedule & store maintenance budgets
  • Communicating effectively and professionally with Architect, Subcontractors and franchisee store team members
  • Managing maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and vendor/subcontractor relationships
  • Having familiarity with OSHA and industry safety practices
  • Handling and accounting for assigned material and capital assets
  • Exercising expert judgment in resolving technical, operational, or procedural problems under limited supervision
  • Promoting a culture of continuous improvement, reliability, and operational excellence

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS

The ideal manager has:

  • 5–10 years of maintenance experience in store maintenance or a similar industrial environment (restaurant industry is a plus)
  • Well-rounded background across mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and automation systems
  • Experience working with vendors and subcontractors on requesting, securing and reviewing bid estimates for their work on both existing store maintenance and new store construction projects
  • Experience crafting new store construction budgets and working closely with project managers to manage the costs, timelines and shipping dates associated with each new store build project to open the stores on time, and on budget.
  • Familiarity and a high level of comfort working in Smartsheet, Excel or other project management software programs to manage the construction/maintenance tasks underway with store projects
  • ​​High school diploma or equivalent and a technical certification or degree are a plus
  • Self-motivation with the discipline to work on their own with minimal follow up
  • High energy, resourcefulness, and ability to multitask
  • Strong customer advocacy skills: friendly, communicative, with a high degree of integrity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Good problem-solving skills

The manager must have:

  • Ability to work in stores located across Hawaii (Big Island), Kauai, Maui & Oahu (this is not a work-from-home or in-office position; you will be in the field servicing Domino's stores the majority of the time)
  • Valid driver's license, with a safe driving record
  • The ability to work 60+ hours a week, nights and weekends, with 1 set day off each week supporting 30+ stores across the Hawaiian Islands
  • Work as part of a team and take direction from multiple stores as their needs arise
  • Be self-guided and self-motivated to get projects done
  • Proficiency in mounting/installation work, and overall store equipment installation & maintenance
  • Resiliency in the face of a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Significant travel required across the Hawaiian Islands
  • Flexibility to work after hours and weekends as required in order to install/support stores during non-peak hours
  • Ability to climb ladders, demonstrate good dexterity, capable of lifting 40 pounds
  • Ability to differentiate colors as part of troubleshooting and adherence to cabling standards

  • Servicing 30+ stores across Hawaii (Big Island), Kauai, Maui & Oahu

Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location. Candidates need to successfully complete a pre-employment screen, which may include a drug test and DMV check.
