Duties

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of line cooks and kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal preparation and service
  • Prepare, cook, and plate dishes according to established recipes, presentation standards, and dietary guidelines
  • Oversee food handling procedures to maintain safety, sanitation, and compliance with health regulations
  • Assist in menu planning by providing input on ingredient selection, portion control, and innovative dish ideas
  • Maintain inventory levels by monitoring supplies, ordering ingredients as needed, and minimizing waste
  • Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service deadlines while maintaining quality standards
  • Train and mentor team members on culinary techniques, knife skills, food safety practices, and proper food handling

Skills

  • Extensive culinary experience with a focus on fine dining environments and high-quality food preparation
  • Strong knowledge of food safety protocols and sanitation standards within the food industry
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse kitchen team
  • Excellent knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques across multiple cuisines
  • Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, catering operations, and food service management
  • Familiarity with dietary department requirements and dietary aide experience is a plus
  • Exceptional communication skills to coordinate effectively with front-of-house staff and management
