Job Description and Overview

CipherJobs is an Early-stage Software and Tech Media Startup based in the San Francisco Bay Area and operating in five states. We are working on various platforms to help North American businesses efficiently match with the talent they need. We are looking to release our Flagship Product in Summer of 2026.

We are seeking an experienced professional to join us as an Associate General Counsel to join our team immediately, preferably with an active appointment to practice Law in California . The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of various facets of business/corporate law in the United States of America, particularly with regards.

We are looking to bring on at least one (1) Counsel on to our team immediately before the end of 2025 or in 2026. Those who sign by year-end will be offered a stock-equity bonus commensurate to the your experience. We are also interested in keeping contact with Candidates who would be interested in joining our team in the future, including future roles in or Outside our Legal Department.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing expert legal advice and support to the executive team and board of directors on a wide range of legal issues.
  • Assist with the Company's legal compliance and risk management strategies.
  • Manage litigation processes, including drafting pleadings, motions, and other legal documents in the States that we do Business in.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements on behalf of the organization to protect its interests.
  • Develop policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with external counsel as necessary for specialized legal matters.
  • Stay updated on changes in laws that may affect the organization's operations.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Be Licensed to practice Law in the United States of America
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a legal role with significant exposure to various areas of Corporate and/or Business Law, including Corporate Formation, Contract, Intellectual Property Law, Technology, etc. We strongly prefer a candidate with knowledge of IP Law, but will consider all candidates with experience.
  • Startup Experience strongly preferred (but not required)
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly.
