Our expanding logistics operation in Seattle, Washington, needs an experienced Forklift Operator. This vital role involves the safe and efficient operation of forklifts and other powered industrial trucks for material handling tasks. You will be responsible for moving, loading, unloading, and stacking a variety of goods within our warehouse. Accuracy and attention to detail are crucial to ensure goods are handled properly and stored correctly, contributing to optimal inventory management. A commitment to safety is non-negotiable; all operators must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and strictly adhere to all safety guidelines and operational procedures. This includes performing regular equipment checks, reporting any malfunctions promptly, and maintaining a safe workspace. The ideal candidate is highly responsible, possesses excellent spatial awareness, and has a strong understanding of warehouse logistics. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, stack, load, and unload goods.
- Conduct thorough pre-shift inspections of equipment and report any defects or issues.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse promptly and accurately.
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records through proper put-away and retrieval processes.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Ensure work areas are kept clean, organized, and free from hazards.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure smooth operational flow.
- Participate in inventory counts and other warehouse activities as needed.
- Maintain awareness of surroundings and other personnel to prevent accidents.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and productivity of the logistics department.
- Follow all traffic rules within the warehouse environment.
