Job Summary:
We are looking for a meticulous and organized Inventory Control Specialist to join our logistics team in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role is critical for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory data, ensuring that our stock levels are precise and our warehouse operations run smoothly. You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining inventory control procedures, conducting audits, and analyzing data to identify discrepancies and areas for improvement. A strong understanding of warehouse management systems and a keen eye for detail are essential.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain inventory control procedures and best practices.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure data accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Monitor stock levels and reorder points, coordinating with procurement to prevent stockouts or overstocking.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast demand, and optimize stock rotation (e.g., FIFO).
  • Manage and maintain the Warehouse Management System (WMS), ensuring accurate tracking of inventory movements.
  • Oversee the process of receiving, put-away, picking, and shipping to ensure inventory integrity.
  • Collaborate with warehouse operations, logistics, and sales teams to ensure efficient inventory flow.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety regulations, and the proper use of PPE.
  • Generate reports on inventory accuracy, stock levels, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a similar logistics role.
  • Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Knowledge of logistics and supply chain principles.
  • Understanding of safety procedures and the importance of PPE in a warehouse setting.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
