We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Boise, Idaho. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of all outgoing shipments, ensuring that products reach their destinations on time and in excellent condition. You will work closely with our warehouse staff and transportation partners to coordinate the movement of goods. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and package outgoing shipments according to company and carrier guidelines.
- Verify shipping information, including addresses, order numbers, and contents, against shipping manifests.
- Operate shipping software to generate labels, packing slips, and bills of lading.
- Schedule and coordinate pickups with various shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS, LTL).
- Maintain inventory of shipping supplies and reorder as necessary.
- Communicate with customers and internal departments regarding shipment status and potential delays.
- Conduct regular quality checks on outgoing packages to ensure proper packaging and labeling.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist with receiving functions as needed, including unloading trucks and verifying incoming goods.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in a shipping or logistics role preferred.
- Proficiency in shipping software and common office applications.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and stand for extended periods.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and material handling equipment is a plus.
- Commitment to workplace safety and following instructions meticulously.
