The Role We are recruiting Business Analysts to join Legal Aid Agency Digital as part of our digital transformation programme. You will join a warm, collaborative multidisciplinary agile team and become part of our established business analyst community within the wider Justice Digital organisation.
Key Responsibilities Undertake analysis to understand how a business area works, considering people, organisation, processes, information, data and technology Identify and elaborate user and business needs to enable effective design, development and business change Ensure new products and services meet business and user needs, and are aligned with organisational goals Understand any business and policy constraints that need to be considered, and assess the implications Collaborate on prioritisation to agree minimum viable product and sprint features Identify areas for improvement, explore feasible options, analyse the effects of change and define success measures Take ownership for improving your own knowledge of business analysis and agile principles, methods and tools and play an active role within the BA community in sharing knowledge and mentoring others

Person Specification Essential criteria
Business Analysis experience – proven experience recently working as a business analyst within the public and/or private sector Defining and managing business needs, user needs and requirements – elicit, analyse, challenge and validate business and user needs, define artefacts such as problem statements, epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria and non-functional requirements, prioritise with minimal supervision Context, problem and option analysis – apply critical thinking and take different approaches to identify, investigate, analyse and communicate problems and opportunities Digital and data systems analysis – analyse complex systems to identify gaps in functionality and future functional needs, model and define business data requirements, ensure data domains are articulated Business modelling – select appropriate techniques to support analysis, decision making and stakeholder understanding, create models and diagrams Stakeholder management – communicate in a straightforward, honest and engaging manner, summarise complex information, build relationships and use evidence to support decision-making and consensus-building Business process improvement – research, understand and document current processes using visual and analytical tools, identify opportunities for improvement
