Our dynamic logistics company in Sacramento, California, is seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our team. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving materials, loading and unloading trucks, and managing inventory within our warehouse. Your primary focus will be on operating forklifts to transport goods, ensuring their proper placement and organization. This role requires a high degree of precision, a strong commitment to safety, and proficiency in operating various types of forklifts. You will play a vital role in maintaining the smooth operation of our warehouse and contributing to the efficiency of our supply chain. Strict adherence to all safety regulations and the proper use of PPE are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts to move, stack, and unstack palletized materials.
- Load and unload trucks and trailers efficiently and safely.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Perform daily inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance needs.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock rotation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety and housekeeping guidelines.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures related to warehouse operations and logistics.
- Ensure accurate handling of goods to prevent damage.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and meet operational goals.
- Secure loads properly for transport.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a forklift operator.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Knowledge of safe forklift operating procedures and practices.
- Ability to read and understand load charts and safety instructions.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Physical ability to climb on and off equipment and perform occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work in various warehouse conditions.
- Willingness to wear required PPE, including safety shoes and hard hats if applicable.
- Good hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
