We are hiring a skilled Material Handler to join our busy warehouse facility in Phoenix, Arizona. This role is critical to the efficient flow of materials throughout our logistics operation. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, and tracking of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods. You will operate various types of material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyors, to ensure materials are in the right place at the right time. Maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse are also key aspects of this position. This role demands a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and meticulous attention to detail to support our overall supply chain objectives. We expect all team members to follow safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move, load, and unload materials.
- Transport materials between different areas of the warehouse.
- Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials and supplies.
- Organize and maintain inventory in designated storage areas.
- Prepare materials for shipment, ensuring accurate counts and proper packaging.
- Conduct regular safety checks on equipment and report any issues immediately.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, adhering to all safety and housekeeping standards.
- Assist with inventory control activities, including cycle counts and discrepancy resolution.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, particularly concerning safety and logistics operations.
- Track material movements using the warehouse management system.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Valid forklift operator certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Proficiency in operating various material handling equipment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics principles.
- Ability to read and interpret product labels, safety data sheets, and work orders.
- Excellent physical condition with the ability to perform manual tasks and lift heavy objects.
- Must be able to perform tasks requiring significant lifting and material movement.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the proper use of PPE.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems is a plus.
