Purpose of the Role Raytheon is seeking a pro‑active and committed IT Systems Engineer to work in the Post Design Support (PDS) team providing support and sustainment for all systems. The role will be based onsite at Malvern (UK).
Principle Duties / Responsibilities
Follow the company processes, procedures and work instructions to ensure the company retains AS9100 accreditation.
Develop and sustain working relationships with internal and external customers.
Provide technical support to programmes during the build phase of multi‑server, multi‑client systems – hardware assembly, software install & configuration.
Undertake testing of newly built and upgraded IT systems, including Integration Testing, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and System Acceptance Testing (SAT).
Provide technical support to customers, primarily via office‑based telephone & email support; from time to time and with prior notice, this may include evenings and weekends.
Travel to support UK and overseas customers to deliver, commission and upgrade IT systems originally built at the Malvern office.
Diagnose and rectify IT issues encompassing Microsoft products, Linux distributions, Active Directory, certificates, networking, storage solutions, virtualization, etc.
Provide technical representation at programme gate reviews.
Manage and maintain locally held replicas of customer systems for troubleshooting and upgrade testing purposes.
Support Programme Management and Business Development by providing feedback on system issues and insights for system enhancements and upgrades.
Support Engineering Review Boards, Design Reviews and proposals to internal and external customers.
Demonstrate software and systems to internal and external customers.
Participate in continuous improvement and lean activities.
Personal Qualities
Self‑starter who is well organised, proactive, and able to make sound technical decisions.
Capacity to work alone, abroad, with remote support.
Presentable in manner and communication delivery to external customers.
Strong motivational drive to assimilate information and overcome problems quickly and effectively to produce correct solutions.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all teams.
Desired Experience / Qualifications
Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
