Role Overview We’re looking for a dynamic and innovative individual to join our team as an L&D Content Designer. You’ll be the creative genius behind crafting cutting‑edge learning experiences, ensuring our training aligns with company values and collaborating with the wider L&D team to design and develop engaging learning interventions.
You’ll report directly to the Head of L&D and work within our People & Culture team. This fixed‑term role runs for 9 months starting February, is based in our Head Office in Edinburgh or London, and offers hybrid working with UK travel to support onsite initiatives.
Responsibilities
Support the development and design of technology‑led and blended learning solutions.
Maintain and adhere to document control and authoring practices of a structured content library.
Apply the 5DI principles approach to all new content design work.
Create and author digital content and SCORM files for all audiences.
Develop storyboards and curriculum aligned to our values and brand standards.
Conduct regular training design reviews to ensure courses are up‑to‑date and meet operational and workplace performance requirements.
Update training design based on internal and external stakeholder feedback.
About you
CIPD qualified or holding an organisational development or learning qualification (or equivalent).
Familiar with traditional and modern training methods.
Proven ability to develop learning outcomes, SMART objectives, and success measures.
Working knowledge of the 5DI design methodology.
Understanding of quality assurance practices and how to maintain them.
Experience managing change in learning programmes to keep training current and compliant.
Knowledge of blended learning design and accelerated learner competencies.
Demonstrated ability to produce content that complies with brand guidelines and tone of voice.
Experience in a hospitality setting, either in operations or training.
Proven experience with online learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, and Adobe Captivate.
Self‑motivated and passionate about hospitality.
Strong IT skills and comfort with Microsoft Office.
Exceptional writing, proofing, and content design skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment and meet deadlines.
