*About Sparko*l
At Sparkol, we believe there’s a brilliant storyteller in everyone but sometimes you just need a little help unlocking your superpower. It’s from this simple belief that everyone should be able to share their stories quickly, easily and affordably, regardless of their technical skills, that VideoScribe was born. Our users recognise us for providing unique, intuitive whiteboard animation software that empowers communication and amplifies their message, and is used by thousands of business people, marketers, illustrators, video professionals, teachers and students, as well as regular folk with stories to tell.
Sparkol has a can-do, diverse, and supportive culture - we look for people who are curious, inventive, and work to be a little better every single day. We’re hardworking, ethical, friendly and, above all, collaborative. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fun and vibrant company that, while small, has a global reach.
Please remember… while we would love to find someone that has experience in all the above, if you don’t have everything we are looking for, it could be a role you grow into so we’d still love to hear from you. If you're full of ideas and excited about helping people to communicate, there could be a place for you at Sparkol, so why not say hello?
*About the role*
The Lead Product Manager role is for someone who is happy to _be_ the whole Product team (for now). You will thrive on the variety of both owning the product strategy while also driving day-to-day execution. You need a start-up mentality with the ability to zoom out to identify opportunities, shape product direction, and collaborate cross-functionally, alongside rolling up your sleeves to research user needs, define requirements, and work closely with engineering to ship high-quality features.
We need you to be able to:
* Demonstrate structured thinking, weighing trade-offs, risks, and constraints.
* Balance strategic planning with tactical execution, neither “too vision-only” nor “too ticket-only.”
* Make decisions based on data and evidence, not assumptions.
* Bring clarity to ambiguity and communicate it effectively across the team.
* Proactively identify problems and opportunities without waiting for direction.
*Key Responsibilities*
*Strategic Contribution*
* Lead the product vision, strategic planning, and quarterly/annual roadmapping.
* Identify and evaluate new product opportunities using data, user insight, and competitive analysis.
* Collaborate with the team to translate business goals into actionable product initiatives.
* Monitor market trends, customer behaviour, and technology shifts to inform long-term product direction.
*Execution & Delivery*
* Own features end-to-end: discovery → requirements → design → delivery → iteration.
* Drive cross-functional alignment with design, engineering, marketing, and customer success.
* Evaluate shipped features, measuring success with meaningful metrics and insights.
*User Insight & Research*
* Conduct customer interviews, usability testing, and qualitative research.
* Monitor, analyse and interpret behavioural data and funnel metrics.
* Advocate for user needs and ensure they are reflected in product decisions.
*Cross-Functional Communication*
* Present insights, recommendations, and updates to stakeholders and leadership.
* Support go-to-market and launch planning alongside marketing and customer success.
* Write clear internal documentation for product decisions, strategy, and processes.
*Must-Have Skills & Experience*
* 5+ years of product management experience in SaaS or a digital product environment.
* ‘Start-up’ mentality.
* Strong product discovery skills - qualitative and quantitative.
* Excellent written communication.
* Experience working closely with engineering and design in an Agile/Kanban setup.
* Ability to prioritise effectively and defend trade-offs.
* Confident with tools like JIRA, Figma, Mixpanel.
*Nice-to-Haves*
* Experience with AI-enabled products.
* Familiarity with subscription monetisation models and activation/retention metrics.
* Experience in both B2C and B2B markets.
* Experience in international markets where English is not the native language.
*Before you go*
* This is a hybrid role - we enjoy an 'in-office' day on a Wednesday
* Benefits: Free lunch Wednesdays, health cash plan, BUPA, death in service, income replacement, bike to work and getting to work with an amazing team!
* _Sparkol is committed to building a diverse and inclusive team. We encourage applications from people of all backgrounds. _
* _We conduct background checks on all candidates once an offer has been made. _
