Candidates with a strong biology background who apply computational and data science methods to biological imaging with a science-first, mission-driven, and service-oriented mindset will be a strong fit for this role.
About Glint Lab Glint Lab is a mission driven histopathology CRO supporting biotech, pharma, and academic partners with high quality tissue based assays and quantitative image analysis. Our analysis team works at the intersection of computational biology and histopathology, using data science and image analysis as tools to extract biologically meaningful insights from complex tissue data with real impact in the biopharma industry.
We are deeply science-first and customer-oriented, and we value team members who care about the quality, clarity, and impact of the data we deliver.
The Role You’ll work on analyzing digital pathology images and associated datasets by applying computer vision and statistical methods to characterize tissue architecture, biomarker expression, and spatial patterns. Depending on experience, you’ll either support or lead the development and execution of image analysis algorithms, maintain high-quality AI models, perform statistical analysis, and offer interpretation of results. This is an applied analytical role with close collaboration across project managers, scientists, and pathologists.
What You’ll Do Perform quantitative analysis of digital pathology whole slide images (H&E, IHC, IF, mIF, and more); this will include leveraging software tools such as Visiopharm, Halo, QuPath, and ImageJ/Fiji to train and fine-tune ML/AI models Perform downstream statistical analysis and data visualization using Python and/or R Conduct QC and validation of image analysis algorithms and outputs Collaborate with scientists to translate biological questions into quantitative results Contribute to the development of workflow automation and new analysis pipelines
What We’re Looking For Required Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biology, bioengineering, biomedical engineering, computational biology, bioinformatics, data science, or a related discipline Foundational understanding of cell biology and tissue-level organization Basic understanding of histology concepts, including tissue architecture and common staining approaches, or a demonstrated motivation to develop this knowledge Working knowledge of Python and/or R for data analysis and visualization Basic understanding of applied ML and computer vision techniques
Nice to Have Experience with digital pathology, histology, or microscopy imaging data Familiarity with Visiopharm, Halo, ImageJ/Fiji, QuPath, or CellProfiler Exposure to machine learning / deep learning frameworks and advanced computer vision techniques Experience in a research lab, CRO, or applied biomedical setting
Why Glint Lab Mission-driven and impactful work Collaborative, scientifically rigorous environment Mentorship and growth opportunities 100% remote work (San Diego optional) Unlimited PTO, full health/dental/vision benefits, 401k match.
Pay Range: $70,000 – $90,000 per year. Actual compensation will depend on skills and experience
