We are seeking a skilled Material Handler for our busy logistics facility in San Francisco, California. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials within the warehouse. This includes loading and unloading trucks, transporting goods using forklifts and pallet jacks, and ensuring accurate inventory placement. A strong understanding of warehouse operations and inventory management is essential. You must be proficient in operating various types of material handling equipment and possess a valid certification if required. Safety is our utmost priority; all Material Handlers are required to strictly follow all safety protocols and wear the designated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times. This role involves significant physical activity, including frequent lifting, carrying, and maneuvering of heavy items. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and into storage areas.
- Transport materials to and from designated locations within the warehouse.
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock put-away.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including the use of PPE.
- Perform routine checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Report any damages, shortages, or safety hazards to supervisors immediately.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler, Forklift Operator, or similar role.
- Valid forklift operator certification (if applicable).
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 70 lbs.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
