Our Sacramento, California location is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to manage the outbound flow of products. As a Shipping Clerk, you will be responsible for preparing shipments, verifying order accuracy, and coordinating with carriers to ensure timely deliveries. This role is critical to our logistics operations and customer satisfaction, requiring strong communication and organizational skills. You will work closely with the warehouse team to ensure all outbound orders are processed efficiently and accurately.
Responsibilities:
- Verify the accuracy of outgoing orders, matching them against shipping documents.
- Generate shipping labels and prepare bills of lading and other shipping paperwork.
- Package items securely for shipment, ensuring they are protected during transit.
- Operate shipping software and systems to track shipments and manage logistics.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for pickup schedules and ensure timely departures.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area, adhering to safety regulations.
- Conduct regular checks of shipping supplies and reorder as necessary.
- Assist in loading outgoing shipments onto trucks when needed.
- Follow all company safety guidelines and proper use of PPE.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and carriers.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience as a shipping clerk or in a related logistics role. Proficiency with shipping software and MS Office. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. Understanding of shipping procedures and regulations. Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to PPE requirements.
