Join our team as a Material Handler in Madison, Wisconsin, and play a vital role in our distribution center's logistics operations. This position is essential for ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods within our facility. You will be responsible for operating various types of material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and reach trucks, to load, unload, and transport materials. Safety is paramount in this role; therefore, a strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and the consistent use of PPE are mandatory. The ideal candidate will have previous experience operating material handling equipment and a proven commitment to safe work practices. This role requires significant physical stamina, including the ability to perform heavy Lifting, bending, and stacking of materials. We are looking for reliable, detail-oriented individuals who can work independently and contribute positively to our team environment. Your contribution will be key to maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting our overall logistics efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, containers, and storage areas.
- Transport materials to and from designated locations within the warehouse.
- Stack and organize inventory efficiently and securely.
- Perform pre-shift equipment inspections and report any issues.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and wear required PPE.
- Assist with inventory management and stock rotation.
- Contribute to a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Valid forklift certification.
- Ability to perform tasks involving heavy Lifting and physical exertion.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety standards.
- Strong attention to detail and reliability.
