We are looking for a proactive Shipping & Receiving Associate to join our team in Boston, Massachusetts. This critical role involves managing the flow of goods in and out of our facility, ensuring timely and accurate processing of all shipments. You will be responsible for receiving inbound deliveries, verifying contents against purchase orders, preparing outgoing shipments, and coordinating with carriers. A strong understanding of logistics and supply chain operations is essential. The ideal candidate is organized, efficient, and committed to upholding the highest safety standards, including the consistent use of PPE. This is a fantastic opportunity to be at the heart of our distribution network and contribute to seamless operations.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments for damage or discrepancies.
- Verify the accuracy of received goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, including order picking, packing, and labeling.
- Schedule and coordinate pick-ups with shipping carriers.
- Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Keep the shipping and receiving areas clean, organized, and hazard-free.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts as needed.
- Handle lifting of items up to 60 lbs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations.
- Familiarity with shipping software and logistics procedures.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Commitment to safety and proper PPE usage is mandatory.
