Team/Role Overview The Business Analyst Group Manager is accountable for management of complex, critical organization-wide applications. The role leads a team of professionals and requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within a function and how they interact to achieve the function’s objectives. The manager applies in-depth knowledge of the business impact of technical contributions and is generally accountable for delivery of a full range of services related to application ownership for the entire organization. Excellent communication skills are required to negotiate internally at a senior level and sometimes externally. The manager is accountable for the end results of an area, exercises control over resources, application lifecycle, configuration, policy formulation and planning, and primarily affects a sub‑function. The role is involved in short‑ to medium‑term planning of actions and resources for the area and has full management responsibility of a team or multiple teams, including people, budget and planning, performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions, terminations, and budget approval.
What you'll do
Manage significant projects, including multiple products or processes with a high level of independence.
Develop and exercise business plans, policies and procedures, and lead projects to improve efficiencies.
Identify stakeholders and key organizations, building and managing relationships.
Direct the creation of multiple projects of work and manage their alignment to business goals.
Facilitate, coordinate and arbitrate cross‑functional macro topics within and across projects with Senior Management.
Identify and drive resolution of issues, including those outside established projects, to ensure scope definition.
Work with the project sponsor to ensure business case and cost‑benefit analysis align with business objectives.
Drive adherence to project processes, procedures, methods and standards and leverage best practices across the project.
Assist the project team in negotiating for resources owned by other departments to ensure project completion.
Communicate status, issues and risk disposition to all stakeholders, including Senior Management, in a timely manner.
Identify risks impacting project delivery and ensure mitigation strategies are developed and executed when necessary.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, uphold compliance with applicable laws, regulations and Citi policy, and manage and report control issues with transparency.
Provide leadership and strategic direction for projects related to the learning ecosystem, acting as product owner to drive prioritization and standardization.
What we’ll need from you
Business Analyst experience.
Experience with learning application implementation and management.
Project Management experience (preferred).
Team Management experience.
Technical expertise including proficiency with Agile scrum, waterfall methodologies and JIRA.
Reputation as a reliable, knowledgeable resource internally and externally.
Ability to develop project plans, manage individual deadlines and goals.
Knowledge of project metrics, gathering, reporting, trend analysis, and application health analysis.
Root cause analysis skills to identify issues, problems and potential risks and generate solutions.
Scope and manage project changes, assessing impact on budget, time and risk.
Manage client expectations, anticipate operational and tactical risks, and track requirements and issues.
Proficiency in MS Office applications, MS Project, Visio and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
Vendor relationship management experience.
Awareness of current learning industry trends, technology and AI opportunities for efficiency improvements.
Bachelor’s or equivalent degree.
