Job Description – Java Developer

We are seeking an experienced Java Developer to support mission-critical applications for Federal Client. The developer will work within a secure federal environment, enhancing and maintaining core border-protection systems that process high-volume data and ensure compliance, security, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, enhance, and maintain Java-based applications supporting core systems.
• Design, build, and integrate microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Work with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and related Java frameworks.
• Participate in full SDLC activities including requirement analysis, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, testers, and federal stakeholders.
• Ensure code quality, security compliance, and adherence to federal development standards.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.

Required Skills:

• 6–10+ years of hands-on Java development experience.
• Strong proficiency with Core Java, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, REST APIs, and Microservices.
• Experience with messaging frameworks (Kafka, JMS) is a plus.
• Strong understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MySQL).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, Maven, Git).
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance (US Citizenship required).

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working on federal government or large enterprise systems.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
• Strong testing experience using JUnit, Mockito, or similar frameworks.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
