Milltown Pharmacy is currently looking for an Experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our team
Responsibilities:
- The Technician is primarily responsible for working with the PIC or Pharmacist on Duty to manage workflow and daily operations of the Pharmacy.
- Responsible for working at the prescription intake counter, receiving and typing new prescriptions and processing refills. Ability to fill in competently at all other non-pharmacist positions, as needed. Assist the PIC in making purchasing decisions and managing inventory.
- Review all negative prescription profit and collaborate with the Pharmacist on Duty to make decisions to resubmit a claim, dispense, etc.
- Make sure all necessary information is included and requirements are met on new prescriptions. Insure CII prescriptions are signed and dated by the Pharmacist on Duty.
- Work under the supervision of the PIC to schedule all technicians, cashiers and students to meet the needs of the store. Responsible for orientating and training new staff.
- Ability to resolve minor problems and recognize when to involve upper management. Ability to prioritize, organize and stay on-task. Responsible for compliance with workplace policies and procedures.
- Assist with the opening and closing of retail location. Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe workplace for co-workers and customers.
- Identify and report health and safety risks, accidents, incidents and property damage. Set an exemplary example for others by providing extraordinary customer service, at all times.
- Communicate in a friendly, patient and professional manner. Present a professional image via proper hygiene and grooming, as well as adherence to company dress code. Must be flexible and responsive to perform these and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years' experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail pharmacy.
- Must have knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements for filling prescriptions, as well as a working knowledge of inventory control.
- Must project a professional image and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must possess a High School Diploma and possess current Pharmacy Technician registration with the State Board of Pharmacy.
