Direct Support Professional Floater (Supported Living, Weekend On Call/Holiday)- Full-time
Must be willing and able to respond to on-call phone while on shift. The DSP-Floater will be assigned to work in any home in Community Services where needed. Must be able to work with individuals with variety of needs including personal care needs and challenging behaviors. The DSP is responsible for implementing and documenting daily teaching program activities as outlined in the individuals' program plans. Will teach and assist individuals with daily living skills, personal care, meal preparation, and social and recreational activities. Will monitor individuals (at night if working a graveyard shift) and perform housekeeping duties as assigned. Assist individuals while at emergency room and give accurate information to doctors and nurses. Ensure daily routines of individuals. Must be a good communicator and networker with PM's and others.
This position requires a high school diploma or GED. Minimum of six months experience working with persons with developmental disabilities required Specific experience working with a broad range of disabilities including extensive personal care and aggressive behaviors is strongly preferred. Must have demonstrated ability to provide effective teaching and behavioral supports to persons with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviors. Must be able to communicate effectively with persons receiving services. Must be able to provide physical assistance (lifting/transfers), assist with personal care and provide behavioral supports and interventions to individuals as necessary. Must have ability to read and carry out requirements of an Individual Service Plan (ISP). Must be able to report (verbally and in writing) on the behavior and development of individuals. Must have the ability to communicate with doctors, nurses, emergency room staff and make effective decisions. Must be able to take the lead at the homes. Must have a valid driver's license, a good driving record and the use of an enclosed, insured vehicle. **Company vehicle and phone available for use during on-call most of the time.
Experience required in Supported living. Lead staff and role model to other front-line staff. Be an example to others following COVID safe Protocols. At this time the position is not on call, but it may be in the future. Must be available one (1) weekend day and be willing to do overnight shifts. Must be willing to attend training & work in all homes pre-assigned & unexpected shifts. Must be an ARCA approved driver. You will receive your schedule weekly on Fridays, you can work with managers to schedule around personal appointment dates. This is a full-time position with all benefits and a great salary.
