Status: Part-time (20 hrs week),
Location: Main office and East Colfax community space
Salary: $24/hour
Hours: 20 hours/week including one weekend day; hours may vary throughout the program year with evening hours up to 8:30 pm.
Job Description:
The Community Youth Coordinator designs, develops, supports, and implements health promoting, educational programming for refugee and immigrant youth and families as well as facilitates referrals to the clinical case manager for youth as needed with regards to youth mental health. This community-based program builds resilience among communities served in partnership with the Senior Program Manager. This position must foster and maintain strong relationships with the participants, community members, and community partners.
Qualifications:
Required
● Experience working with children and youth – minimum 5 years
● Experience with trauma-informed, emotionally intelligent educational strategies
● Advanced educational "classroom management" strategies
● Highly organized with attention to detail, especially in regards to data collection and evaluation
● Observe tasks that need to be completed and take initiative to complete them
● Excellent relationship building skills and able to listen and respond to needs of clients
● Comfortable offering services in home of clients
● Ability to understand grant funding requirements and implement them effectively and efficiently
● Proficient using technology, especially web-based data collection systems, e.g. Apple products, Google Applications, and Microsoft Office
● Interested in participating in professional learning opportunities; ability to share/apply what is learned
● Open to change/flexible; ability to maintain calm and professional in stressful situations
● Ability to lift and carry 30 lbs. and be outside in all weather
● Must have a valid driver's license, vehicle, and auto insurance

● Curriculum and program development experience
● Experience in community organizing
● Experience communicating effectively and respectfully with low-income refugees and immigrants with varying education and English levels
● Experience navigating resources for youth
● Proficiency in outdoor education

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
In-community coordination, implementation, and administration (70-85%)
● Schedule, recruit, and teach weekly programming for youth up to age 21
● Refer youth in need of mental health services to clinical case manager
● Recruit and lead a youth and a community advisory board
● Create and facilitate programming in alignment with the goals specified to funders and that meets community needs
● Offer support and mentorship to volunteers and assistant staff
● Partner with healthcare students to provide health programming to youth and families
● Facilitate surveys and collect data
● Collaborate with partners and maintain relationships
Community Shines Responsibilities (15-30%)
● Attend weekly team meetings to assess goals and strategies
● Aggregate and analyze data
● Support manager in writing updates and reports for grantors
● Plan future programming
● Assess current programs
