Job Description:

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Production Supervisor to be a part of the Leadership team based in Concord, NC. This position directly reports to the Production Manager and supervises a team of Manufacturing Technicians. This position requires 12-hour shifts from 6pm – 6am. The site runs 24/7 and has a 2-2-3 work schedule.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Responsible for managing all operational aspects of the (Deply, Slitting, Testing, Pack-Out, and Backwinding) Conversion area.
  • Lead behavior-based safety initiatives for the shift; ensure technicians plan safety into their daily routines and that safe work practices are followed.
  • Plan, organize, supervise, and schedule manpower, equipment and other resources within issued policies, procedures, guidelines, and budgets.
  • Assist in hiring new team members and oversee the on-boarding and on-the-job training for new and/or transferred employees.
  • Assure the most effective operation of the production process; utilize key operating indicators for control of product cost, material usage, and machine downtime.
  • Manage employee performance and development.
  • Provide leadership in identifying problems, troubleshooting, and solving issues affecting yield and equipment utilization.
  • Maintain and analyze shift measures, conduct shift reporting, audit ERP for accuracy and variance; conduct weekly and monthly variance investigations, maintain and lead team in adherence to SOP's/SOC's (Standard Operating procedures/Standard Operating Conditions).
  • Ensure consistent, equitable working relationships with all team members.
  • Learn and utilize company systems; facilitate continuous improvement; participate in and lead meetings both within the production function as well as cross-functionally; and develop management and technical skills to enhance plant performance.
  • Work with fellow supervisors and non-exempt team members to provide proactive safety, housekeeping, and quality leadership, and to ensure achievement of plant goals.
  • Provide leadership for Continuous Improvement efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education Background:

  • Bachelor's degree is required; degree in related field is preferred.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Supervisory experience with direct reports is required.
  • Experience in a 24/7 manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Must possess working knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Experience leading in a team-centered environment is required.
  • Must be proficient with computer skills to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Must possess strong math skills and have a solid mechanical aptitude.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 operations and an understanding of lean manufacturing principles and 5S is a plus.
  • The ability to work a 12-hour 6pm-6am shift, 2-2-3 schedule, required.

TRAVEL

Must be able and willing to travel up to 5% for domestically and abroad for training and visiting other company locations.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

This position is in a manufacturing plant setting that would require working in a production environment. This position will spend most (80-90%) of their time in a climate controlled clean room environment. Standing and walking continuously during the entire shift, 10-12 hours at a time. Ability to climb stairs and steps in work area is required. This position requires 12-hour shifts from 6pm – 6am. The site runs 24/7 and includes a 2-2-3 work schedule.

Celgard manufacturing sites are IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 certified.
