About Us:
Heartland CASA serves children in Macon, DeWitt, Christian, and Moultrie Counties who have experienced abuse or neglect. Our mission is to ensure every child in care has a trained volunteer advocate by their side and a safe, permanent home. We are a mission-driven team looking for a passionate, creative, and highly organized professional to lead our marketing, outreach, and development efforts.

Position Summary:

The Marketing & Development Manager is responsible for strengthening community awareness, increasing donor engagement, overseeing fundraising initiatives, and ensuring consistent, mission-aligned communication across all platforms. This role blends creativity with strategy—ideal for someone who thrives in a nonprofit environment and enjoys building relationships, telling impactful stories, and driving community support.

Key Responsibilities: Marketing & Communications

  • Develop and implement yearly marketing, awareness, and communications strategies.
  • Create content for social media, newsletters, website, press releases, and campaign materials.
  • Manage CASA branding, print materials, promotional items, and digital assets.
  • Coordinate media relationships and promote CASA events, public awareness efforts, and volunteer recruitment.

Development & Fundraising

  • Support planning and execution of all fundraising events, including the Home for the Holidays Gala.
  • Maintain donor databases, track contributions, and ensure timely acknowledgments.
  • Assist in grant research and preparation as assigned.
  • Partner with community organizations, sponsors, businesses, and donors to expand CASA's financial support.

Volunteer & Community Engagement

  • Support outreach strategies to grow volunteer recruitment.
  • Develop stories, spotlights, and mission-focused messaging that highlights CASA impact.
  • Represent Heartland CASA at community events, speaking engagements, and partner meetings.

Administrative & Collaborative Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Executive Director to set annual goals and evaluate progress.
  • Maintain organized records, timelines, calendars, and development reports.
  • Uphold CASA values, trauma-informed principles, and confidentiality standards.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in marketing, communications, development, event planning, or related field.
  • Strong writing, design, and social media management skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain community and donor relationships.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced nonprofit environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Canva, social media platforms, and basic CRM or donor software preferred.

Schedule & Compensation:

  • Full-time, typically Monday–Friday with occasional evenings/weekends for events.
  • Pay: Based on experience (insert range if desired).
  • Benefits: PTO - 16 hours earned monthly, 4 mental health days annually, all federal and state holidays, 80% Health Insurance covered for employee, free dental and vision insurance.
