This position provides Telecom and IT technical services to commercial/business clients. This multi-faceted role includes low-voltage cable installation and repair, installation and maintenance of network infrastructure, A/V systems, paging systems, access controls and premise and VoIP small business telephone systems. A background in structured cable installation, IT networking and/or telephony is highly desirable. Training will be provided for the right candidate.
Essential Duties:
- Travel to clients' premises to install and repair telecommunication cables and equipment including, but not limited to: network, data, fiber optics, audio/visual, PBX/telephony, paging and other accessories
- Inspect or test lines or cables. Record and analyze test results to locate faults or malfunctions, and repair cables and terminations as needed
- Access specific areas to string low-voltage cabling, or install terminal blocks, cable management, primary and auxiliary equipment, or appliances, using aerial lifts or by climbing ladders, or entering wiring closets, attics, or crawl spaces
- Communicate effectively and appropriately when dealing with clients, co-workers, and/or personnel at levels up to President/Owner.
- Accurately document time, expenses, and inventory used for problem/resolution in Company CRM software for timely invoicing
- Respond to emergency service calls as necessary
- Clean and maintain tools or test equipment
- Maintain company vehicle and assets as needed
Skills & Knowledge Required:
- Structured cable installation, network, and/or telephony experience
- Ability to understand architectural/construction drawings.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction, including organizing, planning and prioritizing work
- Documenting/Recording information according to Company standards
- Office suite software
- Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Software (ConnectWise Manage/PSA experience a plus)
Certifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Possess and maintain a valid driver's license
- Aerial Work Platform Permit, or must be able to obtain within 3 months (training provided)
- BICSI Certification or similar a plus, but not required
- NEC Univerge SV9xxx certification a plus
Job Requirements
- Frequent standing and walking
- Ability to work in various environments, including but not limited to: office, warehouse, manufacturing, or outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to pull low voltage cable from spool or box through raceway, conduit and penetrations.
- Expected to operate and work from various lift platforms up to 50ft.
- Ability to climb and work from a ladder
- Ability to crawl into and work within tight spaces
- Ability to crouch and to get up and down from ground
- Ability to work with arms above head for extended periods
- Ability to manipulate small objects with the hands
- Frequently push, lift and/or carry loads of 25 lbs, occasionally 50+lbs
- Willingness to work days, nights & weekends as required, including on-call rotation and infrequent overnight travel.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40, $55,000.00 per year
