Summary

The Production Project Engineer will lead key manufacturing improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, production quality, and cost effectiveness. This role serves as a critical link between engineering, production, and management to drive continuous improvement and innovation across the plant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as apparent or required by management.

Lead production improvement projects focused on process optimization, efficiency, and waste reduction.

Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, quality control and production teams to resolve operational issues and implement sustainable solutions.

Analyze production data to identify opportunities for performance improvements and capacity growth.

Support the implementation of Lean manufacturing principles, process controls, and equipment upgrades.

Drive cross-functional project teams to meet deliverables within time and budget constraints.

Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure consistent achievement of production goals.

Support workforce development through training, coaching, and engagement in continuous improvement activities.

Partner with the Plant Manager in developing operational strategies, budgets, and capital improvement plans.

Participate in leadership development activities

Recording and comparing bids from multiple vendors and subcontractors.

Qualifications 

Proven track record in process improvement, project management, and cross-functional collaboration.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to translate data into actionable insights.

Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or related methodologies preferred.

Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

Demonstrated ability to lead teams and influence without direct authority.

Ability to plan and adapt to unforeseen situations

Outstanding people skills

Plastic injection molding experience is preferred. 

Education and/or Experience 

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related Engineering field required.

3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or process engineering environment.
