Quality Assurance Technician
Description:
A Quality Assurance Technician supports the quality department in the maintenance, management and development of UPT's quality management system, as well as conducts tribological testing to support production of thin film coatings.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Responsible for maintaining and improving existing quality processes to ensure compliance to AS9100D
Work closely with other departments to facilitate actions and maintain compliance to the current procedures for change controls, CAPA, deviations, complaints and internal audit
Carrying out investigation of non-compliances and/or customer product quality complaint
Utilize quality tools and techniques to perform and document full root cause investigations, to evaluate and resolve quality issues, and to enhance continuous improvement
Aid with development of corrective and preventive actions plans and implement these within a given timescale to eliminate the root cause of a non-conformance
Update, maintain and improve quality management system process documents and documentation
Perform data analyses, prepare quality trend/metrics, and report results
Receiving, labeling and storing samples to be tested
Performing tribological tests needed for analysis and report
Recording tests and analyses and reporting results
Discussing and answering any questions regarding the results
Creation and control of certification reports
Cleaning and maintaining lab equipment
Calibrating lab equipment
Maintaining equipment records and daily work logs
Some travel required
Skills/Qualifications:
Experience with Operational Quality Systems
Relevant experience in manufacturing
Experience in utilizing quality system processes (such as, Audit, Deviations, CAPA, Change Control)
Experience articulating and implementing procedures & quality documents
Ability to clearly and concisely communicate technical information
Ability to research, analyze and report independently to top management
Ability to work autonomously and prioritize workflow
Education/Experience Requirements:
Must be a U.S. citizen
High school diploma; additional education a plus
3-5 years' experience in quality assurance
AS9100D or ISO9001 experience a plus
Experience with microscope a plus
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel
