Job Description Summary Coordinate and oversee the maintenance and building improvements of the Pima County Consolidated Justice Court and other court buildings as needed. This role ensures a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment for court operations, including, but not limited to, the building construction, remodeling, maintenance, space planning, space utilization, and inventory management.
This is a classified position that reports to the Director of Facilities. The incumbent performs duties under limited supervision and has supervisory responsibilities for the assigned location's facilities staff.Job Description

Hiring Range : $68,931 - $75,816 Annually

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma and ten years of professional level progressively responsible experience in facilities management (other than residential properties), responsibility for maintaining safety, compliance and the inspection and coordination of property maintenance and operations, with at least two years of lead, supervisory or management work experience. OR any combination of experience, training and/or education approved by Human Resources.

  • Experience with/have knowledge of facilities management practices, building construction, contractual agreements, bid process and maintenance of medium to large facilities.

  • Experience with/knowledge of occupational safety, custody procedures, loss prevention, OSHA regulations, and provisions of ADA.

  • Experience with/knowledge of personnel management, including employee goal setting and performance appraisals

Essential Duties:

  • Serves as the liaison with Pima County Facilities Management staff for the Consolidated Justice Court Center.

  • Monitors building maintenance, repairs, and services, including janitorial services, plumbing, electrical, electronic, fire suppression, and equipment.

  • Coordinates work orders, inspects work quality and efficiency of service providers, recommends appropriate corrective actions to Director of Facilities. May generate change orders and other contract amendments if directed.

  • Monitors HVAC systems, elevators, surveillance system, and other essential infrastructure to ensure optimal functionality.

  • Monitors routine inspections and preventive maintenance schedules.

  • Assists with parking arrangements for judicial officers and staff.

  • Under Director's guidance coordinates with other court departments and divisions on office moves, conference room arrangements for special events and training programs.

  • Coordinates all facilities changes of judicial divisions and employees, furniture procurement and installation.

  • Prepares standard and ad-hoc reports on various aspects of the facilities management functions and activities.

  • Conducts ergonomic workspace evaluations, makes recommendations and accommodations, as required.

  • Assists with monitoring contractor performance.

  • Ensures timely completion of facilities projects and renovations.

  • Provides escorts upon request.

  • Reliable and predictable attendance is considered essential for this position as the facilities team needs to be consistently available to court staff.

Additional Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Ensures all facility operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations

  • Maintains all facilities and safety records required by the State of Arizona and/or Pima County.

  • Assists with the coordination of facility audits and prepares audit responses to include corrective action plans to correct audit deficiencies.

  • Leads and trains facility personnel, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to policies.

  • Conducts performance evaluations, sets goals, trains, coaches and adjusts performance of staff as needed.

  • Serves as the coordinator for issues related to the American with Disabilities Act (ADA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and risk management. 

  • Performs related duties and projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Must have knowledge of facilities management practices, building construction, contractual agreements, bid process and maintenance of medium to large facilities.

  • Must have knowledge of occupational safety, custody procedures, loss prevention, OSHA regulations and provisions of ADA.

  • Must have knowledge of personnel management, including employee goal setting and performance appraisals.

  • Must have administrative skills in business and report writing, , and communication skills to establish effective working relationships.

  • Must have analytical skills to evaluate options for addressing problems with facilities and suggesting solutions.

  • Must have the skills to work with desktop computers, using software for administrative tasks.

  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people to include judges, coworkers, attorneys, clients, community agencies/providers and the general public.

Licenses and Certificates:

Must have a valid Arizona Driver's license at the time of appointment. Post hire, incumbents may be required to take and pass a Defensive Driving course and Van Training course to perform material delivery and pick-up duties.

Physical/Sensory Items:

  • Work is primarily performed in an office or courthouse setting, with occasional exposure to outdoor conditions including hot and cold weather.

  • Duties require frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and the ability to lift and move large or bulky objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

  • Must be able to climb ladders and work at heights of approximately 10 feet or more.

  • Requires the ability to wear and work in Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for extended periods while performing essential job functions.

  • Must be able to independently move, manipulate, and transport heavy equipment, furniture, and supplies.

  • Requires sufficient visual acuity to read blueprints, schematics, maintenance manuals, and computer screens, and to perform detailed inspections and repairs.

  • Requires adequate hearing ability to detect alarms, equipment malfunctions, and verbal instructions in potentially noisy environments.
