Duties

• Follow food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures to ensure health standards are met
• Support menu planning efforts by preparing ingredients in advance for upcoming service periods
• Assist with catering and special event food preparation as needed
• Manage food inventory levels and communicate supply needs to the kitchen supervisor
• Serve food in a professional manner during meal times, ensuring guest satisfaction and smooth service flow
• Adhere to dietary department guidelines when preparing meals for specific dietary needs or restrictions
• Support the dietary aide team by assisting with meal distribution and ensuring proper documentation

Skills

• Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or food service within a restaurant or food industry setting
• Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques
• Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling practices
• Experience with menu planning and meal preparation for diverse dietary requirements
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to support colleagues across kitchen operations
• Basic understanding of catering procedures and serving protocols
• Previous dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus but not required
