AWS Architect

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled
AWS Architect
to design, implement, and optimize cloud solutions on Amazon Web Services for large-scale enterprise environments. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in cloud architecture, migration, automation, and security best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-optimized AWS cloud architectures.
• Lead cloud migration projects, including assessment, planning, execution, and validation.
• Define and implement best practices for cloud governance, security, compliance, and automation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including DevOps, Security, Development, and Infrastructure.
• Develop Infrastructure-as-Code using tools like CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Perform environment monitoring, optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Provide architectural guidance and hands-on support for AWS services including EC2, S3, VPC, Lambda, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch, ECS/EKS, and more.
• Create documentation including architecture diagrams, roadmaps, and operational runbooks.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of experience in cloud architecture, with at least 6 years focused on AWS.
• Proven experience designing enterprise-scale AWS solutions.
• Strong understanding of networking (VPCs, VPN, Direct Connect, routing, security groups).
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or CodePipeline.
• Expertise in containerization technologies such as Docker, ECS, and EKS.
• Proficiency with scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Strong knowledge of cloud security, identity management, and compliance principles.
• Experience with cost management strategies in AWS.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional) strongly preferred.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with hybrid architectures and on-prem to cloud integrations.
• Background in government or regulated environments.
• Familiarity with automation frameworks and configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).

• This is a
  C2C contract
  role based in Albany, NY.
• Candidates must be
  U.S. Citizens or Green Card holders
  due to client-specific compliance requirements.
