Role Summary
We are seeking a hands-on, problem-solving Operations Manager to oversee our in-house roofing crews. You will be the bridge between the office and the job site, ensuring our teams have the leadership, tools, and direction they need to execute projects efficiently. Your primary goal is to minimize downtime, maintain high installation standards, and manage the logistical "heartbeat" of our production.
Key Responsibilities
1. Crew Leadership & Guidance
- Direct Oversight: Manage daily schedules for in-house crews, ensuring teams arrive on time and are prepared for the day's tasks.
- Quality Control: Visit job sites regularly to inspect workmanship, enforce safety protocols (OSHA compliance), and ensure the "company standard" is met.
- Mentorship: Act as the primary point of contact for Crew Leads; provide training, discipline, and conflict resolution when issues arise among the team.
2. Equipment & Tool Management
- Inventory Control: Maintain a rigorous inventory of all company tools, ladders, safety gear, and equipment. Implement a check-in/check-out system to reduce loss and theft.
- Maintenance: Schedule regular maintenance for tools and fleet vehicles to prevent breakdowns that delay projects.
- Supplies: Ensure crews are stocked with necessary consumables (blades, chalk, caulking, etc.) before they leave the yard.
3. Operational Logistics & Problem Solving
- "Firefighting": Serve as the first responder to daily operational problems (e.g., truck breakdowns, material shortages, unexpected weather, or difficult job site conditions).
- Material Coordination: Coordinate with suppliers to ensure materials are delivered correctly and on time; handle returns of excess materials post-job.
- Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks in our current workflow (loading in the morning, cleanup in the evening) and implement systems to make the crews faster and more efficient.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum (1) years of experience in the roofing or construction industry.
- Leadership: Proven experience managing crews or teams (in-house employees preferred over subs).
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of roofing systems (shingle, metal, flat, etc.) and the tools required to install them.
- Driver's License: Valid driver's license with a clean record (CDL is a plus but not required).
- Language: Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly preferred Spanish/English.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $36, $42,000.00 per year
