GAGE Construction – Superintendent Role Summary
The Superintendent oversees all field operations from early planning through close-out. They manage daily on-site activity, coordination, safety, quality control, schedule performance, and budget compliance. They serve as GAGE's main on-site representative to clients, design teams, and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities
Relationship Management: Act as on-site point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors. Build and maintain strong relationships to support future opportunities.
Pre-Construction & Planning: Attend kickoff meetings; perform constructability, logistics, and drawing/specification reviews; support early design and schedule development; manage permitting.
Buy-Out Support: Provide input on bid lists, scopes of work, general requirements, safety, winter conditions, and logistics; assist in reviewing and scoping subcontractor bids with operations staff.
Document Management: Maintain current drawings, specs, RFIs, addenda, and field documents; assist with submittal review and material status tracking; keep all project documentation organized in Procore/Smartsheet/shared drives; maintain safety, regulatory, and DPH documentation.
Cost & Change Management: Validate subcontractor invoices; support PM/PE with change management; track time and material work, trade allowances, and owner allowances.
Administration: Distribute project information; set up and maintain the site office/trailer; maintain project folders and documentation; assist communication between field and project management teams.
Field Coordination & Daily Operations: Establish site procedures, emergency protocols, logistics plans, signage, and required site equipment; maintain contact lists and required reports; manage special inspections; oversee commissioning and validation responsibilities. Complete daily reports, checklists, sign-ins, housekeeping, and facility coordination. Conduct daily huddles, manage after-hours needs, and open/close the jobsite. Perform quality inspections (in-wall, above-ceiling, concrete, deliveries). Maintain and update the Rolling Completion List (RCL), transition items to punch list, coordinate completion, meet with owner for walkthroughs, and track all punch items.
AHJ Coordination & C/O: Track all permits, inspections, and approvals; coordinate interim inspection sign-offs; ensure all requirements are in the project schedule; manage certificate of occupancy requirements and secure final or temporary C/O.
Scheduling: Issue and update weekly three-week lookahead schedules; update actual dates; provide input for milestone and baseline project schedules.
Meetings: Lead or participate in foreman meetings, MEP coordination sessions, pre-C/O and post-C/O meetings.
Safety Management: Enforce the GAGE Safety Manual; conduct weekly inspections; track deficiencies; maintain all safety documentation, orientations, toolbox talks, SDS logs, and incident/accident reports. Manage all facility-specific requirements including PCRA, ILSM, ICRA, PTPs, noise/vibration assessments, utility shutdown permits, hot work permits, above-ceiling permits, confined space permits, and LOTO. Ensure all subcontractors submit and maintain safety manuals, site-specific safety plans, JHAs, and SDS.
Close-Out: Execute the close-out plan; maintain the Rolling Completion List; meet city/town requirements; submit C/O packages; coordinate with officials to obtain occupancy.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field; 5+ years of relevant construction experience (healthcare preferred); strong time management; MA Construction Supervisor License; OSHA 30.
Language and Computer Skills
Ability to read technical documents, write reports, and speak effectively to clients and teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access).
Work Environment
Field-based construction environment requiring safety awareness, coordination, and daily site presence.
