Position Summary
McWhinney is expanding its successful 34-year focus on raising capital primarily from Family Offices and Ultra-High-Net-
Worth Investors to present equity offerings to ALL investors, beginning first with all accredited investors, and then,
when scalability is achieved, to anyone seeking to enrich their portfolio via direct commercial real estate investment.
This expansion will require a seasoned Investor Relations leader to work in close partnership with the Vice President of Investor Relations (VPIR) and the Investor Relations Director (IRD) to support the retail-focused Investor Relations department that owns and drives the offering launch process, investor relations support, investment lead nurturing, investor sales conversion, investment transaction management, investor reporting, and the comprehensive lifetime experience of investors through repeat investment cycles. The Investor Relations Associate will support McWhinney's expanding investor base by providing analytical, operational, and client service support to the Investor Relations team. This individual will combine analytical precision with technical fluency and a people-first mindset. They will assist in onboarding new investors, managing communications, maintaining accurate data in the CRM and investor portal, and supporting capital-raising and relationship management activities. The role requires strong attention to detail, financial acumen, and a genuine interest in helping investors understand and engage with McWhinney's offerings. The ideal candidate thrives in technology-enabled environments, enjoys engaging directly with investors, and brings energy, curiosity, and professionalism to every interaction.
Key Responsibilities Investor Support & Sales Enablement
- Serve as a point of contact for incoming investor inquiries, providing prompt, professional, and accurate responses.
- Support the VP of Investor Relations and Director of Investor Relations in managing the investor pipeline, scheduling consultations, and coordinating follow-ups.
- Prepare customized pitch decks, performance summaries, and data-driven talking points for investor meetings and presentations.
- Conduct research and prepare analyses to support fundraising campaigns, investor segmentation, and product positioning.
- Track investor activity and engagement metrics to help the team prioritize outreach and identify re-investment opportunities.
- Proactively identify ways to enhance the digital investor experience through improved workflows, automation, and data visualization.
- Onboarding & Compliance
- Guide investors through the subscription and onboarding process, ensuring all required documentation (subscription agreements, AML/KYC, suitability forms) is complete and compliant.
- Coordinate with Finance, Legal, and third-party administrators to ensure accurate and timely processing of investments.
- Maintain comprehensive records of investor communications and transactions in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Ensure all communications and disclosures adhere to FINRA and SEC guidelines and McWhinney's internal policies. Reporting & Data Management
- Manage and update investor CRM, tracking contact information, investment history, and communication touchpoints.
- Support the preparation of quarterly investor reports, statements, and performance updates.
- Partner with Finance and Operations teams to reconcile investor data and ensure accuracy across systems.
- Generate regular dashboards summarizing fundraising progress, pipeline activity, and investor engagement metrics.
- Continuously identify and implement technology improvements that enhance investor reporting and team efficiency. Communications & Events
- Help plan and execute investor webinars, educational sessions, and events.
- Draft investor emails, newsletters, and FAQs with a focus on clarity and compliance.
- Collect and synthesize investor feedback to improve communications and client experience.
- Represent McWhinney professionally and personably in every interaction, both virtual and in-person.
Reporting & Data Management

- Support the preparation of quarterly investor reports, statements, and performance updates.
- Partner with Finance and Operations teams to reconcile investor data and ensure accuracy across systems.

Represent McWhinney professionally and personably in every interaction, both virtual and in-person.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Communications, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in commercial real estate investment, private equity, and/or investor relations.
- Strong analytical skills and comfort with financial modeling, investment data, and CRM systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional client-service orientation.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Familiarity with FINRA/SEC regulations, subscription documentation, and investor suitability standards preferred.
- FINRA Licenses: Series 7 and/or Series 63 preferred (or willing to obtain)
